Déjà Dream: Just Another (Pictorial) Dream Review — Part Fourfeatured

We woke up at 7:30 am feeling incredibly rested. The boat was rocking a bit, so that probably had something to do with it. When the boat rocks, I’m like a baby in a rocker. Out like a light.

We headed up to the Lido deck for breakfast. I wanted real eggs so…made to order omelette, it was.

And then we rented some towels (our room steward forgot to leave us beach towels) and we basked in the sun’s warm glow for a few hours.

It got super hot around 11:00 am, so we headed back inside. I checked my iPad and oddly enough…I had service again. But we were on a cruise and I needed to cut it off so we headed to the Lanai for a snack and some outdoor shade.

While we were people watching on the Lanai, the reason why my iPad service had been restored was announced on the PA speaker: we were diverting to Key West for a Medevac. We went back to our room because we’d ultimately have a better view of the island from there (we’ve never been to Key West). Our cell service was restored (HELLO, OLD FRIEND!) and we hovered a few miles from shore for about a half hour, so the Medevac must have been completed via pilot boat because a helicopter never approached.

Since most of my salad was left up on the Lanai when we went back to the room to get a better view of Key West, we headed to the main dining room for a quiet lunch.

After lunch, we walked around the ship a bit before the rocking to got me and I went to nap, Stephanie showered and Mom shopped. And then? We all reconvened for tea time. And /sidenote here, but one of the cutbacks Carnival has made that really makes me sad is the live music from tea time. We went from a four to five piece orchestra playing live classical music to Yani on the pipe playing the hits of the 80s and 90s intermixed with some early 2000s Shakira on the speakers in the dining room. It’s not quite the same experience.

We ducked out of tea after a pot or so each so we could get ready for formal night.

Decked out in our “formal” best, we headed to the promenade for some drinks. Here’s to you, grandma!

And once we had our fill of discounted vodka soda limes and wine, we headed to dinner.

We went back to the room to change and found a new friend and some Platinum gifts (a plate of sweets, backpacks and pins).

We sat on the balcony for a bit and then Stephanie went to the show lounge to grab some seats for us and Mom and I went to get some iced tea up on Lido.

While we were up on Lido, the menu for the night looked really good, the food didn’t look that different from the MDR and the atmosphere was easy and laid back. It was an incredibly appealing option for future cruises. We met Stephanie in the lounge and the pushy shot servers were there. In the interest of keeping this a PG-13 blog, I won’t post what they were serving (and I don’t remember what they were calling them but it wasn’t what *I* know them as), but all I’ll say is I haven’t taken one of these shots since I turned 21 and they came around complete with the can of whipped cream and some people in the row in front of us entertained me as they tried to take these shots hands-free on a moving vessel. I didn’t think it was too family friendly, but I can’t care that much because I don’t have kids.

I don’t remember what show we saw, but having seen these shows a few months prior, we weren’t entertained enough to stay for the second performance. We headed back to the room and watched a Titanic docuseries and intended on going to Movies Under the Stars but…fell asleep. Oops.
